Witch-A-Thon: Days 2-3
Hey hi hello friends!
So the reason this post is just going up now, and the reason why I'm lumping days two and three together, is because I didn't actually do any reading on Friday and Saturday. Oops? Though to be fair I had excellent reasons.
On Friday I went to my boyfriend's house to celebrate my birthday (which is today, Sunday) and therefore we were talking and eating and generally being social beings, so there wasn't really a moment where I could hunch into my turtle shell and read a good chunk of a book. Even though I did bring two books to his house in case such an opportunity came up...oh well.
And Saturday was a continuation of Friday, really. Honestly I have the best friends in the whole world and they spent all weekend with me without wanting to run away screaming, so like I appreciate that. Also my absolute gem of a boyfriend surprised me with a copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child, a cookbook I've wanted since like 2005 when I came across one of her shows.
Angela, my best friend, also surprised me with a gift. I don't tend to make a big deal out of my birthdays, so I don't ever expect anyone to get me anything, especially since all of us are broke-ass college students and I can hardly ever get presents for people myself, so why would I expect to get something without giving something in return, you know? But Angela said that she saw this in the store and absolutely had to get it for my bookshelves. Well, one shelf in particular:
LOOK AT IT. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. Honestly one of the best birthday presents I have ever received in my life. It's small and like, pretty minimal, but it just matches my TRC books so well, and that was exactly Angela's point when she got it, because I got her to read the series and now she's as obsessed with it as I am. Job well done, I say.
However since I didn't get any reading done these two days I really have to step up my reading game, especially if I want to finish all the prompts for the readathon! I have faith that I can do it.
Until next time!
