Samhain Witch-A-Thon: Day 1
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
So, remember when I said I was doing daily updates? ...Oops. But I'm here now!
Yesterday I got a lot done. I finished off both of the books I was in the middle of before the readathon started (for those who are curious, they were Queens of Fennbirn by Kendare Blake and The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan), and then I started and completed my first book of the readathon!
I read The Tyrant's Tomb by Rick Riordan, to complete prompt #4: Samhain is a time to honor the gods and goddesses in your life, pick a book that includes a pantheon of gods. Well, since the main character is Apollo, god of the sun, in T3, I think I did okay. This book, like all of Riordan's books, was incredible and heartbreaking and hilarious all at the same time. 5/5 stars as always. I can't believe the final book in the PJO universe is coming out next year! The fifth and final book in the Trials of Apollo series comes out next fall, and I'm already so ready for it. I wish Riordan did ARCs, and also that I was known to the publishing industries enough to receive said ARCs.
Once I completed T3, I immediately picked up my next book, Song of the Dead by Sarah Glenn Marsh. I read the first of this duology, Reign of the Fallen, back in the summer, and thought it was incredible. I mean, queer necromancers, fierce queendoms, dead people? What more could a girl want? I only got about 60 pages in, but it was enough to make me feel good about the start of this readathon.
I spent the rest of the night doing my homework (seriously. It took four hours) and then relaxing a bit by restarting Stranger Things. I watched the first season ages ago but never continued with the show, so I decided to try it again. I watched the first two episodes before falling asleep at my desk, as by this time it was about two in the morning. Double oops.
Well, on to day two!

Until next time! Meaning, in a few minutes...
