Reading Update 2/8/19
Hey hi hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog!
I'm super excited for tomorrow, because my parents are coming up for the first time this semester. Of course, this means that they're bringing up a bunch of stuff that I forgot at home while packing, including a ton of books that I realized I really wanted to read.
The most important book they're bringing up is The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro, the second book in the Charlotte Holmes series.
I have the third one, The Case for Jamie, on its way to my house at the moment, but it won't get there in time, so that just means they'll have to come up again (mwahahaha). I'm so excited to read this book, I'm probably gonna pick it up as soon as they leave. Who cares about homework, am I right? (Hint: I'm not right. Homework is important kids. Do your homework.)
Other books they're bringing include Howl's Moving Castle by Diane Wynn Jones, Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, and The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan (the last one they're bringing up because I've gotten a burst of writing energy and I want to work on my PJO fanfiction--don't judge me, it's pretty good). They're also bringing some clothes I forgot like a few dresses and some more t-shirts, and some household things I need in my dorm.
We're planning on spending the day together, going to Target (for food and other household things that neither of us have on hand), and getting dinner at the on-campus restaurant, 1899. Their food is so incredible, and this time I'll finally be able to order one of their drinks (hooray for being 21).
I'm still working on Mythology by Edith Hamilton, and I don't think that's going to change any time soon. It's a hefty book, and it's also informational so it's not like I can breeze through it. I'm maybe half-way through?
This week has been rough, I've had the first three-day migraine in months. I'd forgotten how much they absolutely suck. I haven't been able to do anything except lay in bed with my pillow over my head and hope that the pain would end soon. Thankfully I'm registered with my school's DR (disability resources) and I get a little extra leeway from my professors when it comes to attendance, or turning in assignments.
So, in case you haven't guessed already, there's no video going up today. Maybe if I feel a little better on Sunday, I'll film and upload. Or I'll probably go back to my old schedule for a week, where I post on Tuesday and on Friday, to make up for missing this week. I have my next four videos all planned out, I just haven't been able to sit in front of a camera for an hour. It's not the end of the world, at least.
Until next time, have a picture of a field mouse hiding in a flower:
