Done With Goodreads? | Reading Update 1.24.24
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
It's the first reading update of the year, hooray! Did you click because of the title? It's total clickbait, but I just couldn't resist.
No, I'm not done with Goodreads, not completely. I'll still be keeping track of my reading there. However, I'm getting tired of writing reviews there. Honestly I'm getting tired of reviews in general, but mainly because I just haven't had a good read yet this year. They've all been hovering around the 3 star range, which isn't bad by any means, but it's not anything to write home about, if you get my drift. And telling myself that I need to write at least a sentence on every book I read is making me dread the reviewing process.
So for the time being, I'm going to stop reviewing on Goodreads. I'll still put a star rating, but no words. Now, that's for Goodreads, but what about Storygraph? Well, that's my next point.
I want to try and start making Storygraph my primary site for book reviews and stats. It was only last year where I really started implementing Storygraph into my reading routine, and I enjoy all the extra bells and whistles that it comes with. I will still be using my CAWPIILE spreadsheet, but I think Storygraph is going to be my first stop for reviewing books, before Goodreads.
Well, that's the big news today. I'm currently in the middle of two books: The Children of Jocasta by Natalie Haynes, and Madhouse at the End of the Earth by Julian Sancton. Those are both from my physical TBR, but I've also got a decent sized stack of library books on my desk, so we'll see what else I get to before January ends. I know I want to read the Erased manga series by Kei Sanbe before the end of the month (I only own one volume, and another volume has been requested from my library so I can't extend my checkout).
I think that's all I have for you, today. I know this is pretty short, so I hope you'll forgive me!
Until next time, friends!
