Old and New Favorites? | Manga Monday #18
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
I thought I'd do just a quick little MM update to tell y'all what I'm watching at the moment.
First off, I'm doing a rewatch of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Crunchyroll. Unfortunately I don't have Hulu anymore so I'm unable to watch any series on there, but I do have Crunchyroll, Netflix, and HBO so if you have any suggestions for some good anime, please let me know! I've watched plenty but I'm always looking for new content, you know? Anyway, FmAB. I'm only about ten or so episodes in right now, but as I said, it's a rewatch. However I've only watched the entire anime through once, so I don't actually remember a whole lot. Like, I remember the overall plot and all the characters, but the little details are a bit fuzzy for me. I'm looking forward to continuing the rewatch though: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was one of the first anime I watched as an adult and I really loved it.
I'm also watching Hunter x Hunter for the first time. I'm even less into this anime than FmAB, only about four episodes in, but I really like it already. It kind of reminds me of Pokémon, with the narration in particular. It definitely has that old-school anime feel even though it only came out about six years ago. Probably because it was originally serialized in the 90s and they wanted to keep that style throughout the show. I want to get to where I am in the manga, and then I'll stop watching until I'm able to continue reading the manga. I've still got a ways to go. I'm up to volume 10 (that's all my library has available at the moment, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to keep reading).
Also I thought I'd mention that I've read two volumes of Assassination Classroom this month, vol. 10 and 11. Again, that's all that my library has, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to continue. And I've got a hold for volume 19 of Komi Can't Communicate, which has definitely become one of my favorite shoujos. I hope to collect the series someday!
Alright, that's all I have for this Manga Monday. Sorry it's a bit shorter than usual, but I will definitely plan on doing a review of Hunter x Hunter once I finish it, and maybe I'll do a post about Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood too? We'll see.
Until next time, friends!
