June 2019 Reading Wrap-Up!
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
Another good reading month, if I do say so myself. I had quite a lot of fun with all the books I read in June. I read a grand total of 15 books this month, and 9 of those were 5 star reads for me. 4 were for a readathon I participated in, and 6 of those were manga, which I am starting to get back into again. Side note: I really liked to read manga when I was younger, usually cheesy shojo or shonen series that weren't too complicated. I would very much like to get back into reading them, especially since my library has a pretty vast collection of manga available. If any of you have manga suggestions, please leave them in a comment down below or tweet them to me @AllyEmReads (I'm currently reading Haikyuu!! and Fullmetal Alchemist).
Okay, let's get right into the books, shall we?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Don't Date Rosa Santos by Nina Moreno
Star rating: 5/5 stars
Page count: 336 pages
Read from: May 31 to Jun. 2
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/dont-date-rosa-santos-review.html
2. White Stag by Kara Barbieri (Permafrost #1)
Star rating: 3/5 stars
Page count: 368 pages
Read from: Jun. 8 to Jun. 10
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/wattpad-works-wonders-white-stag-book.html
3-7. Haikyuu!! vol. 1-5 by Haruichi Furudate
Overall star rating: 5/5 stars
Total page count: 1,000 pages
Read on: Jun. 7, 23, 26
No review available
Final thoughts: I decided not to write reviews for these as they are purely for fun. I'm completely obsessed with the anime and wanted to get the same experience reading. The manga is essentially the same exact as the anime just in another format. I'll be reading the volumes throughout the upcoming months until I catch up to what has been published.
8. Vengeful by V.E. Schwab (Villains #2)
Star rating: 5/5 stars
Page count: 480 pages
Read from: Jun. 2 to Jun. 12
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/vengeful-by-ve-schwab-book-review.html
9. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (RE-READ)
Star rating: 5/5 stars
Page count: 352 pages
Read from: Jun. 12 to Jun. 14
No review available
Final thoughts: As this is a re-read for me I didn't want to write a new review on it. Plus, this is one of my favorite books of all time (I've read it at least five times) so any review I write of it I feel wouldn't do it justice.
10. The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
Star rating: 2/5 stars
Page count: 346 pages
Read from: Jun. 14 to Jun. 16
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/litha-2019-witch-thon-wrap-up-four.html
Final thoughts: I read this book as part of the readathon I was participating in this month, the Litha Witch-a-Thon
11. Nevermoor: The Trails of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend (Nevermoor #1)
Star rating: 3.5/5 stars
Page count: 465 pages
Read from: Jun. 16 to Jun. 17
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/litha-2019-witch-thon-wrap-up-four.html
Final thoughts: I read this book as part of the readathon I was participating in this month, the Litha Witch-a-Thon
12. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
Star rating: 4/5 stars
Page count: 389 pages
Read from: Jun. 17 to Jun. 18
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/litha-2019-witch-thon-wrap-up-four.html
Final thoughts: I read this book as part of the readathon I was participating in this month, the Litha Witch-a-Thon
13. Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno
Star rating: 5/5 stars
Page count: 272 pages
Read from: Jun. 20 to Jun. 22
Review: https://allyemreads.blogspot.com/2019/06/litha-2019-witch-thon-wrap-up-four.html
Final thoughts: I read this book as part of the readathon I was participating in this month, the Litha Witch-a-Thon
14. Fullmetal Alchemist 3-in-1 Edition vol. 3 by Hiromu Arakawa (ONE DAY READ)
Star rating: 4/5 stars
Page count: 576 pages
Read: Jun. 26
No review available
Final thoughts: Like Haikyuu!! I won't be reviewing this series as it is just for fun, since I'm watching the anime (Brotherhood, not the original) and I want to see how it compares to the manga. Maybe when I finish the series I'll do like an overall review.
15. Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore
Star rating: 3.5/5 stars
Page count: 375 pages
Read from: Jun. 29 to Jul. 1
Review currently unavailable
Final thoughts: Since I just finished this book today, I haven't been able to write a review for it just yet. It will be the first review of July, however. And once I do write it, I will go back and paste it into this wrap-up.

Favorite book of June: Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno

Okay, there you have it! My June wrap-up for 2019. I was so close to 5,000 pages this month, it's not fair! I'm making it my goal to hit 5,000 pages in July.
Until next time!
