Reading and Life Update 5.6.19
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
Oh boy, a lot has happened in the past couple days. Mainly my brain turning to mush trying to study for these damn finals. College is hard.
But, once I'm done with these last few days I'm home free! I've already begun packing; I have a lot more stuff than I originally thought. Just my posters/canvases/and books filled up an entire storage bin. I really hope my mom brings up another box because I don't think I have enough storage bins and bags to fit everything in. Oh boy.
In between all of the studying and packing, I've been reading Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. The movies were some of my favorites as a kid but I never actually read the books, so I decided to give them a shot. I can definitely say that there are some parts that didn't age well, but I think I am enjoying the book more than the movie so far. I think it's so funny that the movie changed Alan Grant's character so much--he loves kids in the book, hates them in the movie! I'm not sure why they made that creative change, but I think I like book!Alan Grant more. And I am loving the science in it. I've always been a science nerd, even if my brain can't entirely keep up with it.
I don't know what I'm going to read after I finish Jurassic Park, but by then I'll be home with my bookshelves as well as my local library! I'll probably pick up The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson, so I can finally finish the Mistborn trilogy. Oh boy, I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
Oh, I almost forgot! I did a little book shopping on Book Outlet recently, so a book haul will be coming your way soon! It's very small, I think I only picked up four books, but I haven't bought any books in like two months and I was itching for new material (though I'm pretty sure all the books I bought I've already read and loved, but to be completely honest I only remember one of the books I purchased).
Other than all of that, I got sucked into an anime-sized hole called Haikyuu!! I'm completely obsessed! I just finished the series this morning, though I looked and a season four has been confirmed!! I'm so excited, I can't wait. Although, I did notice some...familiar looking characters in the show.
I'm pretty sure this is Jason Grace? Like????? Just look at him! I'm sorry Tsukki, but I can't help seeing another bespectacled tall blonde boi when I look at you.
And this is 100% Ronan Lynch. The shaved head, the brooding expression...the only difference between Ronan and Tanaka is that Tanaka actually smiles every once in a while (I'm sorry Ronan! But it's true Tanaka is one of the most precious beans on the team).
I would love to see a fanfic where Jason Grace and Ronan Lynch go to Japan and run into Tsukki and Tanaka. That would be hilarious!
Okay, I think that's all I have for now. I've got to get back to studying.
Until next time!
