Happy Birthday to Me! Today I'm 27 | Reading Update 10.27.24

Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!

Today is my birthday! I am firmly in my late-20s, and isn't that just the scariest thing you've ever heard. 

My birthday this year was very low-key, mostly because all of my friends live long distance. I went out for a nice dinner with my parents though, and that was lovely. Afterward we watched The Princess Bride together, which is one of my favorite childhood movies, and ate some delicious lemon-blueberry cake. My mom even got me a present: a proper yarn bowl for my crochet projects! I've been using an old clay bowl that was an art project in middle school, but this is so much better.

I do have to say, however, that my favorite gift came from my best friend Angela. She got me the illustrated edition of The Silmarillion by Tolkien! Now I have the entire collection of these gorgeous editions. Look at how pretty they all are together! 

As far as reading goes, I am currently in between books. I finished This Fatal Kiss by Alicia Jasinska earlier today and have not yet picked a new read. I have quite a few library books that I still need to get through before the month ends, not to mention my Halloween plans of reading Carmilla (though that won't take the entire day, so I'll probably pick up something else too). 

Well, I think that's all I have for today's reading update. I know there wasn't much to it, but I just wanted to share my birthday experience with you all.
