End of the Year 2022 Book Tag!

Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!

Today I wanted to do another tag, this time the End of the Year Book Tag! I love doing this tag, I've done it I think four times by now (before my blog, I did this tag on my YouTube channel, which has since been deleted) and it's really a staple in the book community. This tag was created by Ariel Bissett, and she always says that she meant for this tag to be done in October or the beginning of November, since its meant to be a goal check it and gives the reader enough time to actually complete any of the goals they might have been slacking in.

Alright, without any further ado, let's get into the tag!

---

1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Nope! I'm pretty good with either finishing or officially DNFing books, so I just have the books that I'm currently reading, which I don't think count for this question.

2. Do you have an autumnal book to transition you into the end of the year?

Well, I'm going to be reading The Lord of the Rings in November and I would say that is pretty autumnal, but also I've been reading spoopy books all month, so I say that I'm pretty much transitioned into the end of the year.

3. Are there any new releases you're still waiting for?

Yes! I am still waiting for the third and final book in Maggie Stiefvater's Dreamer Trilogy, Greywaren. It comes out on the 18th of this month, so I don't have to wait too long, but still! Also the third novella in Nghi Vo's Singing Hills Cycle, Into the Riverlands, comes out on the 25th of October. And lastly, the second book in the Celestial Kingdom Duology, Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan, is coming out November 10th.

4. What are three books you want to read before the year is over?

I'm hoping to read many more aside from these three, but the books on the top of my TBR are Babel by R.F. Kuang, The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik, and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno Garcia. The sooner I read these books, the better!

5. Is there a book you think could become your favorite of the year?

Hmm, maybe? I definitely think that both Greywaren and The Golden Enclaves have that potential, as well as Lord of the Rings. I know that would be a reread for me, but still! It's been so long since I read it, that I really don't remember details, only the broad plot.

6. Have you already started making reading plans for next year (2023)?

Tentative plans, yes! Looking back on my goals for 2022, I can see that I accomplished some and failed in others. You'll be getting an entire post later in the year about my 2023 reading goals and plans, but I'll give you a sneak peak now: I'd really like to read at least one nonfiction book a month, not including poetry. These could be novels, or essays, or memoirs, anything. I just want to read more nonfiction next year, since I kind of failed to do so this year.

Alright, that's the end of the tag! If you want to do this tag as well, feel free to say I tagged you! I'd love to know your answers.

What is a book you want to read before the year is up? Let me know in the comments, or tweet at me @AllyEmReads.

Until next time!
