My Hero Academia Book Tag ft. Angela
Hey hi hello friends, and welcome back to my blog!
So I was going to do this for Manga Mondays, but I totally didn't remember to, so oh well here we are now! This is the My Hero Academia Book Tag, originally created by Raviv over at Crescent Moon Reads. You can find their original video here. And, not only will you be getting my answers, but also my best friend Angela's as well!
As you know, we both love books and we both love My Hero Academia, so this tag was basically made for us. Let's do this!
1. You're a hero now, what's your quirk?
Angela: Probably rock manipulation, almost like earthbending.
Me: Call me basic but an analysis quirk. Nedzu fascinates me, and I'm definitely more of a chair guy than an altercation hero.
2. Next up, you need a hero costume! What does yours look like?
Angela: Jesus, okay. So you know the Dai Li Agents from Avatar: The Last Airbender? Like that, with the same rock material they use as gloves for knee and elbow pads, as well as gloves. I'd have a headband-type helmet that is made of slate and galena, and my costume would be the color of a red-banded agate. (What can I say? She's a rock nerd.)
Me: A sleek headset that has drop-down goggles, so I could get things like infrared and night vision, similar to how JARVIS works in the Iron-Man suits? But not with the actual suit. As for costume, I wouldn't need anything fancy, probably just a jumpsuit with first aid packs, and thin armor in case I do get caught in a fight. And then some sort of tablet attached to my forearm, so I can look at and send information to the police, other heroes, computers, etc.
3. You're getting partnered up to train, what character would you want on your team?
Angela: Probably Uraraka. She can make rocks weightless and easier for me to target others with them. Not only will they float but their trajectory can be manipulated and it'll create an endless momentum for them while also taking the strain off using my quirk to move them with their full weight. Plus, I can create boulders for her to use.
Me: Either Midoriya or Aizawa. Both characters use their brains as their chief asset, so it would be interesting not only to hear their input on my strategies, but also see if I can think of something they can't. Plus, Aizawa erases quirks which means I can be on the same playing field as the opponent, physical wise, and Midoriya is strong boi and can protect me if I need it. Obviously I'd have to learn how to hold my own in a fight, but it's still important to recognize assets when they're available.
4. Katsuki Bakugou: King Explosion Murder might have a slight anger issue...what book/character made you enraged?
Angela: President Snow from The Hunger Games. He's just awful.
Me: Billy Andrews from Anne of Green Gables (and the Netflix adaptation, especially). Every time he showed up, I would say "I hate him" under my breath. He's just the worst type of bully.
5. Izuku Midoriya: Deku is doing his best, name a character that's the opposite of a "Mary Sue" and works hard to become the best.
Angela: Adam Parrish from The Raven Cycle. He's super hard working and builds his life from the ground up, knowing it's going to be difficult and doing it anyway.
Me: Vin from the Mistborn series. The entire first book is just her learning how to use her magic, and throughout the series she is constantly up against the worst opponents and losing, a lot, before learning how to overcome them.
6. All Might: The Symbol of Peace, what book gives you hope?
Angela: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It's just beautiful. It paints magic in a way that I haven't seen done in a while. There's magic portrayed in the classic sense that "doesn't seem possible" but there's also the energy and feelings that go into the magic. The imagery alone is beautifully written. Not to sound cliche, but it gave me the sense that magic can come from anywhere. Magic is in human connection just as much as it's in card tricks.
Me: Absolutely The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I can't really explain it, it's something you just have to experience for yourself. It's by far the most beautiful and hopeful story I have ever read.
7. Shouto Todoroki: Half-n-Half has a troubled past, name a character with a tormented past whom you can't help but love.
Angela: Man, I don't know...Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul? Yeah, let's go with him.
Me: Can I say Todoroki? Ha, I love him! He's my all-time favorite character in the series.
8. League of Villains: Heroes are nothing without their villains...name a villain you love who would challenge you the most as a hero.
Angela: Probably Wrath from Fullmetal Alchemist. His lack of compassion would get to me.
Me: Oh, this is hard. I'm trying to think of villains that primarily use their intelligence to win...probably Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes? It would definitely be a battle of wits instead of fists. I feel like that's a super boring answer, but the more I think about it the more I agree with it. Moriarty's whole shtick is that he plays mind games in a way that make you want to play with him. I feel like if I had an analysis or intelligence quirk, I'd be sucked into his ploys pretty easily.

Okay, that's all for today! Don't forget to check out the original tag as well as Raviv's channel because they're amazing and make great content.
Until next time, go beyond. Plus Ultra!
